As a former TidewaterBiz reporter, one of my responsibilities included delivering the top business headlines at 4 p.m. every weekday on WHRV-FM 89.5 during a one-minute segment called the “Hampton Roads Business Minute.”
This segment was a compilation of business stores highlighting the daily TidewaterBiz newsletter, which was typically delivered the morning before the segment was taped and aired.
As the main broadcaster of this segment, I was responsible for finding the news items, summarizing the text, preparing the scripts and recording the broadcast.
Much of the content highlighted was originally reported by me for the Daily Press’ print edition, only shortened for the sake of the radio program.
